Cranking out the blogs tonight, keep scrolling down! Trying to play catch up...
Typically, we make a huge deal out of Chinese New Year. Remember, we like to party. But with Maverys surgery, and school starting, I just don't have the energy. So in honor of CNY today we ordered in Chinese. The kids could not believe I was not even willing to go out! Hopefully later next month we can RE celebrate chinese new year and at least put their silks on them and go for dinner. We will miss not going to the big parties and watching the dragon dance. But to be honest, taking the little girls to that event sounded miserable to me. There is always next year and surely by then they will be calmer & easier. Surely? Wanted to share this cute conversation tonight.
2 of the children do not like chinese food. They like the buffet because they can eat the chicken nuggets and fruit. But other than that, they turn their nose up. So being the nice mom I am, I offered hot dogs to complement our dinner. (yes i feed my children hot dogs. And McDonalds. We survive here. )
Sage: I want a hot dog too.
Malaine: Sage, you are Chinese, you have to eat the Chinese food!
Sage: Oh, ok.
So serious and so funny! I did give Sage a hot dog, but she and Mavery both LOVE Chinese food and gobble up anything you put in front of them. So nice to have kids that will eat whatever I give them.
Happy Year of the Ox. Makenna is an ox so I guess this is her lucky year!

I just read that you are supposed to wear red underwear during "your" year. So I guess Makenna needs some new drawers ; )
